North Shore Times, 14th October 2004
Carl and Marion Mann of MD Mobility Healthcare are
distributors of New Zealand and imported mobility equipment. Technical
innovation and the formidable research and developments behind today's
mobility products is such that many people will be amazed at what
is now on offer.
MD Mobility supply scooters, walkers, power chairs,
bath safety equipment, commodes, lift-out chairs, walking sticks,
grab rails, risers on toilet seats, arm rest and swivel shower chairs.
"We have found there was a gap in the market
for personalised safety," says Carl.
"We are happy to go to people's homes to talk
things over and assess their individuals’ needs, this may
mean older people who have limited mobility, or young people with
disabilities - and those in between."
Carl has 25 years experience working in conjunction
with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
Carl and Marion will also visit rest homes, retirement
villages and private hospitals to advise on what is available for
those who have specific need. Demonstrations can be offered to interested
groups both large and small.
"We offer affordable solutions so that people
can gain some independence," he says.
This positive couple are good communicators who are
sensitive to your needs. They supply only well-made products, with
an excellent parts and service backup.
Their comprehensive range combined with in depth
knowledge of mobility needs, results in a specialised service that
has helped many a North shore resident to lead a fuller life, despite
a disability. They have also provided something of a North Shore
icon, with their mannequin sitting on a scooter placed on the grass
verge on Upper Harbour Drive, near their premises.
Resembling a senior citizen about to launch out into
the great unknown, this figure receives many toots and whistles
from passers by. Just watch out for him in a Santa suit when Christmas
rolls around!
It is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Call
